No campaign succeeds without the foot soldiers who carry it to every booth. Booth-level workers, volunteers, and grassroots organisers remain the bridge between parties and people. Their trust and credibility often outweigh the most expensive ad campaigns. In this opinion piece, we argue that investing in local workers — with training, respect, and recognition — is the smartest strategy any political leader can adopt.
